“BELIEF SYSTEMS” - are by definition a set of principles or tenets which together form the basis of a religion, philosophy, or moral code.
Series 2020 - Present
This painting series will be mostly abstract. The initial idea and Inspiration came from my wife’s abstract and expressionistic paintings. He ability to work so freely on her paintings with no set destination, was the main source of inspiration for the process and techniques. The abstract elements of color and texture mixed with the circles is done so on purpose. The Abstract element is symbolic of the rebellious nature of breaking free from beliefs. Circles will be a staple of the this body of work, they will represent the cycles or patterns that a belief system can form. The impact of our own belief systems tend to shape the person we become. The impact of Belief Systems culturally and sociologically has often fascinated me, and been a reflection point through-out my life. I wanted to explore more expressionistic, and purely abstract bodies of work in this series. I want the paintings to be loose with the use of only some simple imagery. The identifying mark of the paintings will always be the three circle pattern somewhere on the painting.
